The Réunion harrier (Circus maillardi), also known as the Réunion harrier, is a large and magnificent bird of prey; it is the only endemic breeding bird of prey on Réunion Island. It is a protected species.

It's a bird that can be seen from the house.

Traditionally, in May, a renowned short trail (mountain race) is organized, starting near the house, a race which reveals a large part of the communal territory from the breaking waves (passing on the black sand beach of Avirons) to the mountain peaks (arrival in the charming village of Tévelave).

This race is called the papangue race.
