Traditionally, in May, a renowned short trail (mountain race) is organized, starting near the house, a race which reveals a large part of the communal territory from the breaking waves (passing on the black sand beach of Avirons) to the mountain peaks (arrival in the charming village of Tévelave).This race is called the papangue race.

Le papangue ou busard de Maillard (Circus maillardi), est un grand et magnifique rapace ; c’est le seul rapace nicheur endémique de la Réunion. C’est une espèce qui est protégée. C’est un oiseau qui peut être vu depuis la maison.
